A Milton man was arrested this evening after a warrant was issued following an altercation that broke out at a New Years party in Munson.
Deputies received the call for assistance shortly at 3:09 a.m. on Tuesday. Dispatch was told that the victim, Dillan Fretwell, 23, had been stabbed at a party being held at 12299 Munson Highway. Fretwell was driven to Jay Hospital for treatment.
When deputies arrived at the hospital, they found that Fretwell had been stabbed four times; one to the chest and three to the back. The stab wound to the chest missed Fretwell’s heart by one inch.
Fretwell received stitches for his injuries and was able to speak with deputies. Fretwell stated that the suspect, Camrin Bass, 19, became upset over a comment that was made by Fretwell towards a female that was present at the party.
Bass then came up to Fretwell and started stabbing him. Fretwell and numerous witnesses at the party identified Bass being the suspect that was the person that stabbed Fretwell.
Bass fled the scene and was not located that night. A warrant was issued for Bass’ arrest on Wednesday.
Deputies were able to locate Bass and take him into custody at a relative’s house in Milton at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday.
Bass was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is being held at the Santa Rosa County Jail with no bond.
