The Escambia County Sheriff's Office posted the following release yesterday.
Escambia Sheriff's Investigators believe that a string of conveience store robberies has come to an end with the arrest of three individuals.
The arrests follow an early morning robbery which occurred at the Circle K located within the 3400 block of Barrancas Avenue on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Shortly before 4A.M., ECSO Dispatchers received a call of a robbery in progress. Deputies arrived and immediately began to circulate the area just as the suspects fled from the store. All three suspects were taken into custody without incident. Santa Rosa County Sheriff's personnel arrived as it is believed that the suspects were involved in multiple prior armed robberies which have occurred in both Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties in recent weeks. The suspects are identified as follows: Damascus Isaiah Williams, 20; Maurice Pettus, II, 35; Julius Lamar Scott, 35. They are charged as follows: Robbery with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment, Grand Theft, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Additional charges are pending. No further information is available at the present time and further details will be released as they become available.
