A string of alleged threats and violence lead to the capture and arrest of a Milton man who dodged warrants for his arrest, according to police reports.
Fred Bernard Tibbs, 22 of the 5800 block of Byrom Street in Milton, was arrested for a string of alleged attacks, occurring in late June and early July, according to Milton Police.
Reports indicate Tibbs became "irate and violent" when he was asked to leave an apartment building. Officials say he began physically striking the victim in the face and throwing her phone against a wall, breaking the phone. Reports say the 22-year-old straddled the victim on the ground, continuing the strikes.
According to reports, the victim broke away the attacker and ran outside, screaming for help. Tibbs grabbed her neck by the neck, pulling the victim back inside the apartment, continuing the physical beating, police say in reports. Tibbs would not allow her to leave.
Reports say Tibbs was calling the victim non-stop a day after the initial attack, saying he would do the same thing again if he got his hands on her.
Days later, police investigated another incident involving Tibbs and the victim at the same domicile. Witnesses told police they heard a loud argument and saw Tibbs pushing the victim back into the residence. The alleged attacker was seen getting into a black, four-door vehicle, leaving the apartment complex.
Tibbs was arrested by Milton Police and charged with one count of felony obstruction of justice, one count of felony kidnapping-false imprisonment and one count of misdemeanor battery. He was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail and is being held on a $11,000 bond.
