Speak Out

Friday 11:26 a.m.

This is Maria. I wish people would getting along everywhere in the world. I am 72 years old. Everything going on, went on before. I remember the countries spy on each other. Stop criticizing Obama for everything. All the presidents and all the countries, spy. Please if you criticize, run and see if you can do the job better.

Friday 12:07 p.m

This is Doris. If Obamacare is so great and less expensive, why has my Florida Blue co- payments, prescription medication and deductible all significantly increased? Big question.

Friday 12:14 p.m.

Support the Manna Food Bank in the memory of my friend who passed away, (unintelligible).

Friday 2:36 p.m.

I was just wondering why is it that Julianne Hough, the Dancing with the Stars girl, was almost tarred and feathered and was shunned and bullied by the blacks because she painted her face black and dressed up for Halloween as a black girl star.  Why is it that the girl doctor who played on the doctor painted her face white to imitate Lucille Ball  and no one cares or says a word. Is it okay for the blacks but not the whites to do certain things? Why do the blacks hate the whites so bad? I thought we were all the same.

Saturday 4:23 p.m.

Yeah, this is Bobby. This is for Raymond. He must live a miserable life. Everything he writes in about is about something to do with race. He just makes a blanket statement like white Christians hate blacks. If they hate blacks, why did they vote a black in a president; why did they fight a war to release the black slaves; they voted in the black rights to vote, to integrate schools. Black people didn’t free themselves. It was white people who freed them. There were no black people in congress. It was the white people. I think he needs to lighten up a bit and quit worrying so much about racial stuff. I think he’s dreaming.

Saturday 5:12 p.m.

In your seven little words puzzle again. Am I missing something? They say there are 55 words to complete the puzzle, but there are only 54. Just wonderin’.

Sunday 12:44 a.m.

Raymond. Mucho gracias to speak whatever is on my mind. When I speak about white Americans, I don’t speak about all white Americans. Only the ones who are hateful for no good reason, toward people of color, especially toward myself for speaking what is on my mind, which we all have the opportunity to, but some people such as people called Bob and some other people – he thinks I criticize white Americans for no reason, but I don’t – only people who hate people of color for no good reason.

Sunday 2:16 a.m.

Hello. This is Jennifer. And I was very interested, have been reading your Saturday paper. Several people are asking what is the fourth branch of government. I’m surprised they don’t know. We the people are the fourth branch of government. If we would exercise our responsibility then our government might better represent us, according to the Constitution. Thank you very much.

Sunday 5:43 a.m.

William O. Jones, Jay. In the Speakout on or about 10-17, I brought up the fiasco at Spencerfield. On 10-19 was attacked by David, no last name, twice in the same thing. First attack, he was right – as I had no idea on my first letter how bad it was. Four phone calls each, Senators Rubio and Nelson and to Jeff Miller’s office, they had no clue. Five calls Santa Rosa County learned they spending on the sidwalks $646,000 or $30 a running foot, and three calls to FDOT learned the total spent was $920,000.  (?) $274,000 what is that going to be spend on? How do you feel about this folks? How about no last name?

Sunday 8:44 a.m.

William O. Jones, Jay. I have a correction to make, I feel totally responsible. Says 3, supposed to be 13. I take responsibility…put correction in Speakout and letters to the editor, just trying to correct myself. Thank you.

Sunday 6:20 p.m.

This is George. I just want to straightened out this thing with the water systems. It is not the Pace Water System with the issue, it is the East Milton water system whose president and son are doing the no-bid work.

Monday 7:49 a.m.

This is in response to a reader calling me out on the four branches of government. Those would be the Executive, House of Representatives, Senate and Judicial Branch. And thank you for proving my point.

Monday 1:28 p.m.

Yeah, this is John in Pace. I was just reading the Press Gazette, about the two people calling about the four branches of government. I think the original caller in was correct. The fourth branch being the news media, especially the political news media. That’s what he tried to imply. These other ones talking about ignorance, they are the ones who are ignorant. Get over it.

Editor’s note:

Just for clarity’s sake: Taken from the White House website, there are three branches of government The Executive Branch; the Legislative Branch; and the Judicial Branch. House of Representatives and Senate which together,  form the Congress. To ensure that no person or group would amass too much power, the founders established a government in which the powers to create, implement, and adjudicate laws were separated. Each branch of government is balanced by powers in the other two coequal branches: The President can veto the laws of the Congress; the Congress confirms or rejects the President's appointments and can remove the President from office in exceptional circumstances; and the justices of the Supreme Court, who can overturn unconstitutional laws, are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. In creating this balance, the framers of the Constitution hoped to form what they called "a more perfect union" — a government that would not only serve the people but would also be a long-lived exemplar to other nations around the world.
