Cottage Food: Starting a Home-based Food Business

The Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida, located at 9999 University Pkwy. in Pensacola is presenting a Brown-Bag Lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 from Noon – 1 p.m. titled “Cottage Food: Starting a Home-based Food Business."

Do you want to sell your home-made baked goods, candies, preserves and more to the general public? If so, you don’t want to miss this free seminar.

Participants will gain knowledge on the types of foods that can be produced from their home kitchen; the licensing & labeling requirements; and how the products can be sold.

Since our funding agency requires a minimum number of attendees, we cancel workshops that don’t meet these requirements. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

For further information, or to register call 474-2528, or go to our website at www.sbdc.uwf.edu.

The seminar is free and the presenter will be Dorothy C. Lee, CFCS, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent, UFL/IFAS – Escambia County.
