Paint Your Heart Out seeking volunteers

Are you handy with paintbrush?

The Santa Rosa Clean Community System will soon be organizing Paint Your Heart Out for its 15th year.

Volunteers are being sought for the annual event partnership, beginning in April. There are currently four Paint Your Heart Out projects scheduled for the months of April and May, giving volunteers a chance to help beautify the community and help people and places in need. Individual citizens, civic, church and business groups are encouraged to participate.

Hall's Hardware in Milton will provide the supplies, Santa Rosa County's Hazardous Waste Department will be mixing "reclaimed" paint and volunteers will come from throughout the community. Following is a schedule of Paint Your Heart Out projects: Margaret Street – April 6, April 13; Mayo Park (Pond Creek) April 20, 27; Alabama Street – May 4, 11; Park Avenue – May 18, 25.

Most projects will be completed in one Saturday, but a second Saturday has been added in case of rain or for more time to complete some projects. Volunteers from Milton High NJROTC, US Naval Sea Cadets (Whiting Field Division) and Navy volunteers from NAS Whiting Field will be completing the Mayo Park project. All other projects are in need of volunteers. To register, call the Clean Community System at 623-1930.
