The Fiesta of Five Flags Centennial Imports Boat Parade sets sail from the Pensacola Yacht Club at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The parade of over 20 marine vessels will start at the mouth of the Bayou Chico Bridge and will make its way to the Quietwater Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach.
The community is encouraged to join the procession of boats escorting Don Tristan DeLuna’s yacht to the shores of Pensacola Beach where he will be welcomed by Chief Mayoki, his Queen, White Dove, and tribe at the Landing Ceremony.
The DeLuna Landing Ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at the Quietwater Amphitheater located at 400 Quietwater Beach Road on Pensacola Beach following the Boat Parade. The ceremony is a festive, lighthearted re-enactment of what might have happened when Don Tristan DeLuna landed on Pensacola Beach over 450 years ago. The public is encouraged to attend both of these free events.
After the Landing, all spectator boats and passengers are invited to Flounder’s Chowder House for the Fiesta Beach Bash from 3 to 6 p.m. Boats may anchor behind the establishment to enjoy live entertainment, drink specials and cash prizes for the best decorated sport-themed or sports team-themed boat. Judging will take place as boats pass under the Bob Sikes Bridge during the Boat Parade. Winners will be announced during the bash and must be present to win.
