Friday, June 7 & 21 – Florida KidCare Application Assistance @ Milton Library, 10 a.m. – noon

Nancy Lake from Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital will meet with families at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St. to assist them with enrolling in Florida KidCare. Florida KidCare is the State of Florida’s high-quality, low-cost health insurance for children from birth through age 18.

Friday, June 7 – Viva Florida 500 & Summer Reading Kickoff: Dig into Agriculture @ Jay Library,

1 – 4 p.m.

Join us at our 2013 Summer Reading Program Kickoff and Viva Florida 500 Celebration: "Dig into Agriculture" at the Jay Library located at 5259 Booker Ln, Jay. Meet Tuffy, A Real American Quarter Horse Hero, sit in a tractor, crawl through a soil tunnel, and plant your very own seed. Come enjoy hot dogs and peanuts. This program is the third in a series of programs to highlight Viva Florida 500 and Florida’s history. Special thank you to these organizations who are donating time and talents to this program: Blackwater Soil and Water Conservation District; Tuffy, A Real American Quarter Horse Hero; Escarosa Young Farmers and Ranchers; US Department of Agriculture; Smith Tractor Company, and Turn One Graphics.

Friday, June 7 – Hopeful Hearts Bereavement Support Group @ Navarre Library, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

A series of meetings for "Hopeful Hearts," a bereavement support group, will be held on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. from May 31 through July 19. The weekly sessions will address grief support–following an educational outline—and offer assistance, love and listening ears to those grieving over the loss of a loved one. Jennifer Gilbert, MSW of Emerald Coast Hospice, will facilitate the meetings. All materials will be provided, refreshments will be served, and no reservation is required. There is no charge to participate. The program will be held in the Navarre Library Meeting Room, located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Wednesday, June 12 – Reading Education Assistance Dogs @ Navarre Library, 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Come, Sit, Stay & R.E.A.D. with a Furry Friend in the Navarre Library on the second Wednesday of each month. Sign up in the library. Supervision is required. The program will be held in the Navarre Library, located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre. Contact the Navarre Library for more information.

Saturday, June 15 – Tablet/E-Reader Workshop @ Gulf Breeze Library (Phone Registration Required) @ the Gulf Breeze Library, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Do you own a new tablet or e-reader? Are you confused about what your digital device can do or how to use it? If so, this workshop is for you. You may bring any tablet/E-Reader Device (I-Pad, Nook, Kindle, etc). See a staff member for details. Participation is limited to the first 20 who call 981-4071 to register. The workshop will be held in the Gulf Breeze Library meeting room, located at 1060 Shoreline Dr. in Gulf Breeze.

Wednesday, June 26 – How Hospice Helps @ Navarre Library, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 26 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Daina Skinner R.N., BSN, of Emerald Coast Hospice, will explain how hospice services work, what types of services are provided, and when hospice services might be beneficial. The program will be held in the Navarre Library Meeting Room, located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Thursdays in June, Genealogy Research Assistance @ Navarre Library, 9 a.m. – noon

Library volunteers are available Thursdays in June to give general genealogy research guidance; one-on-one assistance in using online and print genealogy resources for family researchers; and assistance in filling out ancestral charts and family group records. Beginners and seasoned researchers are invited to use these services. To ensure a volunteer is available to assist you, please call 981-7323 before you visit.
