Pensacola police credit citizen and officer partnership with quick arrests

Increased police presence and citizen’s involvement has resulted in the quick arrest of two juveniles responsible for two residential burglaries occurring in the 200 block of Severin Drive.  This morning 9:11 am a neighbor called police to report the suspicious activity of three juveniles on bicycles in the area of Severin Drive and Gamarra Road.

After receiving the tip from a neighbor Officers were able to locate the three juveniles.  Darius Sanders, 17 y.o.a., and Quayon Barney, 16 y.o.a., were arrested and charged with residential burglary, Grand theft, and grand theft of a firearm.  Most of the property taken in both cases has been recovered including two firearms.

The increased police presence is a key component of a burglary detail that came as a response to increased burglaries throughout the city. Investigative efforts are on-going and additional charges maybe pending.

Citizens are strongly encouraged to continue to call and report any suspicious vehicles and persons seen in your neighborhood.
