Pictured are the new members of the Santa Rosa County Retired Educators Association Brenda Creel, Danny Retherford, Sarah Hobbs, Gus Rich, Solomi Porter, Wanda Powell, and Bill and Carla Schopp. The Santa Rosa County Retired Educators met Sept. 17 in the Russell Center on the campus of Locklin Technical. The new president, Melanie Waite presided over her first meeting and the new members were introduced by Marian Hunsucker. A reception was held in honor of their retirement. September's program was given by Alexia Mader from Junior Achievement of NW Florida. She informed the group of how this organization works within the schools and of some of the activities that it has done. The next meeting will be Oct. 8 and the guest speaker will be Chubby Locklin, Retired Principal, Santa Rosa Co. His topic will be "History of Santa Rosa County."
