Speak Out- October 20, 2012

If you have a short comment you would like to make, call the Speak Out line at 623-5887. Longer comments are better suited as a letter to the editor.

Wednesday, 9:10 p.m. This is to Sharon Glass about her letter regarding Raymond Johns. She did a very good job expressing her feelings and beliefs. I think she is a very nice lady.

Wednesday, 6:21 p.m. Hi this is Jerry. I haven't been on Speak Out in quite some time now. This afternoon I noticed something while picking up my son who was volunteering at the Milton Cemetery. I heard a bump, bump from a police car and noticed an unmarked silver Crown Victoria has pulled over into the State Farm parking lot. The driver got out of his car and started hugging on the lady he pulled over and talking to her. That is really professional use of the sirens to pull someone over just to talk today. You ought to be real proud of yourself.

Wednesday, 4:27 p.m. This is Bobby responding to Chet's Speak Out about the vice presidential debate. If he is serious and feels the debate was civilized and how a debate should go, I don't think he has ever seen a debate. Each person should have a chance to speak without one of them grinning like a possum and interrupting continuously. Thank you.

Wednesday, 4:23 p.m. This is Jim. I would like to get a hold of the state road department and talk to them about Avalon Boulevard. The company that is doing the finishing up work on the south end of the road appears to be doing a great job and everything is real smooth. The other company has made no effort to fill in where they have cut the road and it is tearing up our cars. I think if they will let this new company finish off the project it will be done right.

Wednesday, 3:49 p.m. This is Bubba Fisher. Our board of county commissioners have done a good job spending millions of dollars on the park and recreation facilities across the county as well as they should have. One thing that is lacking in Santa Rosa County is a Farmers Market. The ideal place to put it would be behind the courthouse facing Pine Street. It should be a 24×80 or 24×60 metal shed with pavement in front so the ladies don't have to wade through rocks and mud to get inside. We appreciate Ms. Thames for letting us use her lot, but this is not the ideal spot. This would be really important to our county.

Wednesday, 2:27 p.m. Hi this is Judy. It seems like someone in our community wants to become the local Rev. Wright. I think you both are pathetic.

Wednesday, 1:20 p.m. I see where they just got the city official for DUI. He should be fired like the one was for sexual harassment. Thank you.

Tuesday, 5:12 p.m. Yes, I was wondering if you could print the number to Greg Evers office. I need that number to see about complaining about the conditions of Avalon Boulevard. This is stupid. Editor's note: If you will look below to the box for elected officials you will find a contact number for Senator Greg Evers.

Tuesday, 5:02 p.m. My name is Raymond and I just went to Ken's Body Shop off Avalon Boulevard. They need to do something about the drop off on the service road.

Tuesday. 4:30 p.m. This is James. I see these articles where people are complaining about Avalon Boulevard. They have messed up the service road and screwed over those businesses. Typical Santa Rosa County. Editor's note: James, according to Ian Satter with the State Department of Transportation, they are expected to fix the drop off on the service road very soon. They were completing that project when Hurricane Issac was passing and they moved on to another project and will come back to complete it in the near future.

Tuesday, 4:06 p.m. My name is Randy. I have been following the articles on Avalon Boulevard and how they messed up the drainage. They fixed their mess up, but they left a big drop off and it beats my car to death. I would like to give the foreman of this project a piece of my mind.

Monday, 2:31 p.m. Hi this is Judy. I met an angry man today and he asked me if I was a supporter of Romney. I said yes and he said I must not watch television and that I was not informed. I do watch television and I am informed. I have also watched Obama mock the bible, support gay marriage, support abortion, turn his back on Israel, and support a church that promotes hate for Americans and white people. My vote will be cast for the man who is the most Godly, and that is not Obama.
