The Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) has released the rosters for the 9th Annual Subway High School All-Star Football Game Presented by the Andrews Institute, the official sports medicine provider of the series, set for Dec. 14 at Pace High School
The game will include seniors from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County and will feature 11 players representing Jay, Milton and Pace, while a total of 20 players will represent Santa Rosa County overall.
A couple of big names from Santa Rosa County include Pace’s Ryan Santoso, who is an Under Armour All-American as well as the top high school kicker in Florida, while Milton’s Dejon Funderburke, a University of South Alabama commit is expected to suit up as well.
Colton Williams will represent the Royals of Jay High School this year.
Pace who is tied with Niceville for the most players selected with seven is being represented by Tommy McMillion, Austin Rollins, J.C. Curry, Brice Moore, Santoso, Bkale Ladouceur, and Jeffery Wright.
Milton has three seniors selected in Funderburke, Trevor Wheeler, and Christian Walker.
Navarre, who played against Gainesville High on Friday, had six selected.
If the Raiders advance to the Class 6A State Finals in Orlando, roster adjustments will have to be made to fill the vacancies left by Jay Warren, Nick Benton, Johnny Robinson-Pettus, Andrew Rieves, Jonathon Shaw, and Devin Colonel.
Gulf Breeze will be represented by Alex Pagonis, Austin Droogsma, and C.J. Nelson.
Niceville head coach John Nicks will be heading up the East coaching staff when practice begins on Monday, while first year Washington coach Craig LaBorde will lead the West Squad.
Pine Forest leads the West Squad with nine selections followed by Pensacola with eight and Northview, who is coming off their first Class A State Final yesterday against Trenton High with six.
Last year’s game was called after an altercation occurred on the field between the two squads with the East Squad ahead.
Coaches from the other respective high schools in the All-Star area will assist their respective head coaches.
Tickets to the game are $7 and $5 with a canned good. The PSA is teaming with Manna Food Bank for a canned good drive and encouraging everyone to help families for Christmas by bringing a canned good item.
The PSA is one of the oldest sports associations/commissions in the United States, beginning in 1954.
Today the PSA manages or assists in numerous events a year throughout the Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa county areas. Events include a high school all-star series, flag football, 5K-15K runs, marathons, triathlons, bicycle races, collegiate national championships, and annual awards and scholarships banquets to name a few.
The PSA is dedicated to building a better community through sports.
