The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing a weekly update on the Avalon Boulevard multilane projects in Milton. U.S. 90 to Commerce Road This week the contractor has been constructing concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and curb cut ramps within the location of Avalon Boulevard and U.S. 90. The contractor has also been installing drainage structures, and constructing a (right out only) turn out at Lou Sohb Chevrolet. As part of the Avalon Boulevard project crews will be paving on U.S. 90 between Lou Sohb Chevrolet and Kmart Monday, Oct. 1. Traffic can expect intermittent lane restrictions from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for approximately one week. North of CSX Railroad Bridge to south of Commerce Road Crews will perform drainage and safety improvements on Avalon Boulevard in front of Casey’s Nursery. All work will be performed within FDOT right-of-way. South of Moors Lodge to CSX Railroad Crews are currently performing embankment work, removing existing asphalt, and treatment of ponds 2 & 3. No planned lane closures at this time.
I-10 to south of the Moors Lodge
Crews continue construction activities for the future southbound roadway between Del Monte and San Juan streets. Temporary asphalt will be placed Thursday, Sept. 27 and Friday, Sept. 28 at Del Monte Street to re-open the roadway. Workers are forming and pouring the pile cap and back wall south of Mulatto Bayou for the future northbound bridge. Drill shafts are being installed for high mast lighting at the I-10 ramps on Avalon Boulevard. Sidewalk, curb and gutter and drainage work continues. Erosion control devices continue to be maintained throughout the project. Construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.
