PACE — Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Panhandle Community Theatre presents "Things My Mother Taught Me," a highly-rated, life and love-affirming comedy to the stage May 5 – 6 and May 10 – 13 with a special Mother’s Day Brunch May 13.
Brittany Leist of Milton, who plays the part of the young wife, says she likes this production for its content and cast.
"I think this play is a true-to-life comedy, and it is especially funny because it is something we can all relate to," she said. "It always feels like family here. Everyone works together to make sure we have a great show."
On Sunday, May 13, at 1 p.m., a special brunch for Mother’s Day will be available. The meal includes honey-glazed ham, roasted chicken, rosemary, garlic roasted potatoes, green beans, simple salad, strawberry shortcake and lemon, coconut cupcakes, tea, water, coffee, and complimentary champagne.
Panhandle Community Theatre member Robin Tillery, who has performed and attended plays at the theatre for years, says she attends as many shows as possible.
"I’ve been moved to laugh, cry and cheer right along with the performers," she said. "I thoroughly enjoy community theatre and being up close and personal with the actors. It’s an intimate setting and lends itself to something you can’t get anywhere else."
