While one Milton driver was critically injured, her passenger was killed following a Sunday night vehicle crash on Chumuckla Highway, according to a Florida Highway Patrol.

Robin Brown, 62, died after the car she was riding in, a 2000 Chevy Malibu, was stuck by a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by Milton resident Anthony Keith White.

White, 40, is currently facing DUI manslaughter charges after he was reportedly driving south on Chumuckla Highway at a “high rate of speed,” FHP reports. Esther Brown, the driver of the Malibu, was traveling north on the same road. As Esther attempted to make a left turn into a business driveway, White’s truck collided with the Malibu’s right side in the roadway.

Esther Brown was listed with critical injuries at the scene and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Robin was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.
