The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office currently has Jeremy Laroy Woolard of Pace in custody following a foot chase this morning at Navarre Beach. Woolard, 28, is now facing multiple charges of burglary, larceny, criminal mischief, fraud and drug possession, among other charges, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
Woolard was apprehended following by deputies following an early Monday morning call regarding a suspicious individual on Gulf Boulevard.
In his arrest report, a witness claimed to see Woolard break into a minivan and put items from the vehicle into his pockets then leave on a white bicycle. After locating the suspect matching the witness description, Woolard began to flee the area and was later located attempting to break into a beach condo in the area.
According his arrest report, Woolard was apparently tased by a deputy while attempting to enter the condo. After being apprehended, Woolard initially gave a fictitious name and birth date to authorities on scene. After properly identifying Woolard, deputies also discovered he had seven SRC warrants out for his arrest regarding burglary and theft charges from previous incidents in the Pace and Milton areas. Woolard also had a warrant for breaking into the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Milton.
During an interview, Woolard told an investigation deputy he a bad drug problem and decided to break into cars in order to pay for drugs, according to the arrest report. Woolard was also found to have syringes on him.
Woolard cooperated with deputies by showing them four different residences where he had burglarized vehicles including naming what items he had stolen. Depuites were able to recover stolen property at the scene of this morning’s incident.
Woolard currently remains at the Santa Rosa County Jail with no bond.
