Speak Out September 23

Thursday, September 17

This is AW, I am concerned the Santa RosaCounty roads and bridges department cant clean the ditches anymore. I have been on the list for two months to get the ditches in front of my home cleaned. I understand that is county property. Thanks for letting me speak out.

Really, they are now charging $10 to park at the Munson Heritage Festival. They never charged before. Low income families have very few affordable options, this was one my family enjoyed. With the cost of buying food and a few vendor items that was enough without adding ten more dollars. Where does all of the parking money go anyway? Consumerism and greed creeps in again on the working family. It is a shame that we are not going again this year. My name is Randy. Thank you.

Yes, this is Betsy and I want to commend Bobby about his statement about deputy not having his picture in the paper. I would also like to know why the judge bonded him out, so he could go home and beat the little child some more, I guess.

Hey, this is Gene out here in Pace. Our democratic senators are at it again, blocking the passage way where the republicans want Iran to recognize Israel and to release our American hostages before they approve this treaty and the democrats could care less about Iran recognizing Israel or releasing our American hostages that they have. It’s time to get rid of these democrats in the senate, especially Bill Nelson. Now granted, he is related to my wife by third or fourth cousin. Guess what, we are not voting for him. He is a butt. Have a good day.

This is Jerry. I just want to say that Marilyn Jones does not need to be defended. She is a highly intelligent woman and mature councilwoman. Her focus is on Milton and all of its citizens. She should certainly not apologize to anyone especially the contentious and immature mayor. Mrs. Jones’ allegiance is to Milton and to a very few. She wants a united Milton, not a divided one. If you were at the meeting Ricky mentioned you will know that the apology should come quickly and directly from the mayor. Milton has an excellent city council and Marilyn is one of the very best. She is an asset to Milton. Now all we need is an adult as an mayor.

This is Oscar again. I got to complain about this Avalon Boulevard out here. It’s a speed trap, from the railroad crossing all of the way to the golf course entrance. There is nothing on either side of that road between there and the other side of it. It is just a clear spot straight through. It’s awful funny that they have a 45 miles per hour speed through there then if you take Highway 90 here from the entrance at the college there all of the way at Pace Highway 90, its 55 miles per hours. You got all kinds of in and out kinds of traffic. I don’t think it is right that they put a speed trap there. You got traffic backed up for a long ways and nobody is moving at 45 then, they get 20 miles per hour. Thank you.

This is Jerry, I want to agree with the local residents in favor of extending alcohol sale hours. I concur with one statement, they said it could be a positive impact on the local economy. Hopefully, the business impacted will see an increase and not the funeral homes or the cremation centers or local hospitals, etc. Thank you.

Yes, this is Joe. Santa Rosa County Commissioners has once again slammed the little guy. Hard working Santa Rosa folks work from paycheck to paycheck and can’t catch a break with a new gas tax that the county commissioners approved. What has happened with all of the gas tax that has been collected over the years? I see no road work being done. The county commissioners are more concerned about the rich business folks and rich people, than to look out for the hardworking, blue collar, retired community here in Santa RosaCounty. Thank you very much.

Yes, this is Tom Kinds, a retired Milton Navy vet. I see by every indication there will be no cost of living increase for social security for this year. So in the last four years,  we have had approximately 2.8 percent increase.  Hamburger is five dollars a pound, bread is three dollars a loaf. The cheapest vegetables you can buy is $1.69 a pound or more. If you go through a fast food joint, a hamburger, fries and coke will cost you $8 per person. Yet our government is calling for 185,000 Syrians to be let into our country, so how will the government’s best support them. You can bet it will be better than the 65 plus Americans on social security will be treated folks in time. We go to the streets and start taking out country back. How much does a government give every immigrant that comes into the United States? We already have 12 million undocumented aliens in this country and now we have two Florida senators going for a $15 an hour wage, that is a 100 percent pay increase. So how far will your social security go now, think about it. I hope you put this to get America pulling for our own change. Thank you very much, Tom Kinds.
