SRSO deputies take fire in Pebble Ridge neighborhood

55 year old Alan Patterson was arrested after firing on Santa Rosa County Sheriff's deputies Thursday from the front lawn of a Pebble Ridge neighborhood home. The garage door and trash can have what appear to be bullet holes. There were no injuries.

Alan PattersonThe Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office arrested 55 year old Alan Patterson on multiple charges including operating a firearm while intoxicated, according to Public Information Officer Rich Aloy and Major Bob Johnson. The full list of charges is pending, but Aloy said Patterson made the call himself saying he was going to take his own life, but when deputies responded he began firing on them from the front lawn of his Pebble Ridge home. Once Patterson stopped firing, deputies approached from the side of the home. Aloy said they ordered Patterson to drop his weapon, which he did, then they took him into custody. There were no injuries and Aloy said nobody else was inside the home at the time of the incident.
