The 15th Annual Ghost Walk, presented by the Santa Rosa Historical Society, will explore MiltonHigh School’s 100th anniversary. According to  the event’s co chair Richard Baldwin, attendees can expect to explore MHS’s legacy by visiting the school’s original location on Canal Street. The historical building is currently used as an administrative building for the Santa RosaCountySchool District.

Attendees can also expect to receive historical insight in regards to the many different cultures of Santa RosaCounty from the African American community to the Creek Indian Tribe.  Participants can also expect to see several colorful characters along the way, including the Blackwater Pyrates.

Ralph "Captain Dragon" Palmer said he couldn't give any details on the show, but the theme will be "The Legend of Blackwater Bones' Treasure." Palmer added the Pyrates will use their ship as the stage as in years past. Last year, the Pyrates set up at the WestFloridaRailroadMuseum with a musical salute to women's rights.

Baldwin said the Ghost Walk tour continues to be one of the historical society’s biggest fundraisers and expects the annual event bring in between 2,000 to 2,500 attendees.

“This brings life back into downtown Milton,” Baldwin said.

Vernon Compton, President of the Santa Rosa Historical Society, said the tour is never the same route, adding each tour continues to give out new historical information which keeps regulars coming back for more.

“We always see the same families at each tour,” Compton said.
