PACE — Local PGA of America Club Professional, Mike Genovese of Pace will be fulfilling a lifelong dream when he tees it up in the 2018 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, May 22-27 at Harbor Shores Golf Club, in Benton Harbor, Mich. This will be Mike’s first ever Senior PGA Championship.

As Genovese prepares to compete alongside golfing legends like Vijay Singh, Rocco Mediate and Fred Funk, he must make the necessary arrangements to ensure his everyday responsibilities as owner of Summit Golf are covered.

While competing on TOUR is the primary job of many professional golfers, Genovese is a PGA club professional at Summit Golf and his day job consists of lessons, golf shop operations, member responsibilities and executing player development programs, among other responsibilities.

Genovese is one of 35 PGA club Professionals from across the U.S. to qualify for the Senior PGA Championship. While this is the culmination of a dream for Genovese, he is fully aware that associates, colleagues and management at his club will pick up his workload, while he is away competing against the world’s best senior players.
