Milton’s Three Rivers Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution became a Commemorative Partner with The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration Program. This program is designed to include national and regional activities, veterans' groups, and other nongovernmental organizations as a grateful nation thanks and honors our Vietnam Veterans and their families. Commemorative Partners are encouraged to participate by conducting events and activities that will recognize Vietnam veterans and their families' service, valor, and sacrifice.
Congressman Jeff Miller spoke at the meeting and reminded all of the turbulent times of the Vietnam War. Our society did not always show Vietnam Veterans the respect they earned, he said. But five decades later, we as a nation now pay tribute for the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, both in theater and back home, and pledge to forever honor their service. Congressman Miller expressed appreciation of the Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service to our great Nation, and underscored remembrance of those lost in that great campaign.
