Arrest made in Gulf Breeze homicide

Christopher Alexander Lindsay, 44,  remains incarcerated at the Santa Rosa County Jail with no bond after being charged with the homicide of Lorie Elaine Musil. The arrest happened following witness testimonies, video footage and results from Musil’s autopsy gathered by investigators with the Gulf Breeze Police Department.

According to a Gulf Breeze affidavit, the incident occurred on Sunday, November 22 at the Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge. Witnesses said Lindsay sat down next to Musil at the establishment and began to have a conversation.

Security footage from the establishment caught both Musil and Lindsay leaving the bar together and heading in the direction of the marina at 10:35 p.m. The same footage showed Lindsay re-entering the establishment at 11:16 p.m. Lindsay was reported to be shirtless, while being described as wet and shivering. The affidavit also revealed Lindsay spoke about been thrown into the water by a female.

According to the investigators, Lindsay had a verbal exchange with a bartender at the establishment. The bartender said Lindsay could not be inside the establishment without a shirt. Testimony from the employee said Lindsay was acting in an aggressive manner adding Lindsay had said he had drowned a woman.

Further testimony said Lindsey was later heard screaming and found by other witnesses sitting in a breezeway which overlooks the area of where t Musil was discovered.  Another witness stated Lindsay became angry when approached and began talking nonsense about being pushed in the water.

The witness said Lindsay was wearing dry jeans no shirt, no shoes, with a wet torso and wet hair during the encounter.

Musil’s body was discovered the following morning on the rocks next to the marina where Lindsay’s boat was docked.

An autopsy on Musil’s body conducted by the medical examiner’s office revealed Musil had extensive bruising on her legs, arms and torso.

The medical examiner’s office concluded Musil's death was a homicide due to drowning.

According to the Santa Rosa County Jail website, this is not Lindsay’s first encounter with the Gulf Breeze Police Department. Lindsay was arrested last month by the Gulf Breeze Police Department on multiple charges of illegal drug activities, traffic violations and possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted felon.
