Investigators with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating a string of home and vehicle burglaries over the holiday weekend, according to SRSO Public Information Officer Rich Aloy.
Aloy said the thefts occurred in residential neighborhoods around the Glover Lane, Dogwood Drive and Hamilton Bridge Road areas. A SRSO Facebook post also reported burglaries in the Avalon Boulevard and Gulf Road areas in Milton. Additional vehicle burglaries also occurred around the Woodbine and Guernsey Road areas of Pace.
The Pace burglaries in which wallets, purses and a firearm were stolen are being investigated as a separate incident from the Milton string of burglaries, Aloy said.
The burglaries occurred between the evening of December 24 and early morning hours of Saturday, December 26th.
Among the burglaries, Aloy said two vehicles were stolen from their Milton properties when the suspects gained entry into the homes which contained the keys to the vehicles.
The make and models of the two stolen vehicles have not been released at this time. However, Aloy said investigators have “developed suspects” in some of these burglaries.
Aloy said most of the burglaries occurred in homes and vehicles which were not locked.
Investigators are also looking for any surveillance video footage related to these incidents between the hours of 10 p.m. of December 25 and 7 a.m. of December 26. The footage could assist investigators by identifying suspects in any of the burglaries.
Anyone with information about these incidents are encouraged to contact the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office by calling 983-1100 or the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP. Vital information on these burglaries could lead to an $1,000 reward.
