The Homecoming Week of school spirit fun and festivities included spirit competitions between grade levels, along with the traditional bon-fire, pep rally, dance, skits, dress-up days, alumni reception and parade.
The 2015-2016 Homecoming Queen Miss Kianna Cutts and Princess Emily Wolfe were crowned during the presentation in the standing room only Homecoming Court Saturday night.
The Jaguars earned a double win for their special evening. The first from their junior varsity basketball squad and then as the varsity defeated the Pensacola Christian School Warriors 67-53 in front of the homecoming crowd. Central saw scoring from eight of their players in the win.
Central (13-9) who had fell to the Warriors (10-13) in the Jay Christmas Tournament went into halftime with a tie ballgame 28-28. The Jaguars then took control during the third quarter allowing only 6 points from the opposition and scoring 21 on their home court. The Warriors outscored Central by one point in the fourth quarter 19-18.
The Jaguars finished the night shooting 68% from the free throw line, and with a team total of 43 rebounds and 10 steals.
