PACE — Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of fellowship and legacy.

First Apostolic Church of Pace will celebrate its 100-year anniversary on June 7 with a four-day celebration. Reverend Larry Webb, who became pastor of the church in 1981 will celebrate his 37th anniversary as pastor at the same time.

“We are very excited about this event,” Webb said. “We’re just excited about the people that come and the lives that are being changed. God has opened up so many doors.”

The following guest speakers will speak at the church during the events:

•    Reverend Jerry Jones: 7 p.m., June 7

•    Reverend Mike Williams: 7 p.m., June 8

•    Reverend David Bernard:  2 p.m., June 10

There will be a special banquet at noon on June 9 at the Santa Rosa Auditorium, 4530 Spikes Way, Milton.

Webb said people can expect a unique history of the church when they come the celebration as well as meaningful ministry by several ministers. Webb also indicated that there will be several members of the church from its earliest beginnings who will be sharing testimonies at the banquet held on Saturday.

Webb wants to see all area churches support those in need.

“My challenge is to the pastors to motivate their churches to become proactive churches,” he said. “If every church would get on board with helping needy families, homeless people, people that really need the gospel I believe that we can elevate the status of Santa Rosa county, Milton, and Pace as a primer community for the entire state of Florida to model helping one another.”

First Apostolic Church began in 1918 in a small congregation called Holiness Tabernacle. In 1947 the church name was changed to First Pentecostal Church. In 1958 the church changed its name to its current name and in 1977 the church moved to its current location on Highway 90.  In 2010 it saw a major renovation to the design that we see today, seating 700 members. First Apostolic Church includes weekly prison ministry, child daycare, children’s programs for all ages, community outreach for underprivileged families, and adopt-a-block families.

First Apostolic Church is located at 5574 US-90 in Pace.
