Benny Russell Park will close from February 29 to March 4 while a new all-inclusive addition is constructed, making it the first of its kind in northwest Florida. Designed for children of all abilities, the park will add swings, activity panels, a music station, slide and a variety of innovative playground components.
"As a parent, I am extremely excited how this park will offer the environment for children with and without disabilities to play side by side," said Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jayer Williamson. "Every child deserves a place to play and this mindset can start in our parks and spread throughout our schools and our community."
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held later in March to celebrate the new enhancements. Benny Russell Park is located at 4160 North Spencerfield Road in Pace. For more information on Santa RosaCounty parks, visit www.santarosa.fl.gov/parks.
