The Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Milton announced the concert lineup for the 2016 spring portion of Bands on the Blackwater. The spring series, featuring local musicians, will begin on April 8 and will be held each Friday night in downtown Milton until the end of June. Each concert will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 9, according to a press release from the city. The concert series, which is open to the community, is expected to take a short break after the June 24th show and return on September 16 and run every Friday until October 28.
John Norton, City of Milton Parks and Recreation director said, “Bands on the Blackwater has brought a tremendous amound of attention to downtown Milton. When we started this 5 years ago, we had hopes of what this series could become. I didn’t imagine it to take off like it has.” Norton said the business community has benefitted the most.
“Downtown businesses had a vision and they’re seeing interest. Because of that they are on the ground floor of something I feel is ready to take off.”
