Sand Dunes Chapter of Embroiderer’s Guild

The Sand Dunes Chapter of Embroiderers' Guild of America celebrates various forms of hand embroidery.  The March meeting will be Sunday, March 20, 1:30 until 4:30 p.m., in the Religious Education building, Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Valparaiso Blvd, Niceville.  Visitors are welcome.  Call 496-3466 with any questions.

Newcomers Club

The Newcomers Club of Pensacola will have its Cherry Blossom Bash April 13 at New WorldLanding, 600 South Palafox Street. Doors open at 8 a.m. The event includes lunch, fashion show, raffle baskets, silent auction and door prizes. Cost is $25 per person. For more information call 937-9768.

MHS Band April Crawfish Festival and Car Show

The 1st Annual Milton High School (MHS) Band Crawfish Festival and Car Show is April 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event will include a crawfish boil, a classic car show, a children's activity area and vendor booths. Featured entertainment includes the MHS Jazz Bands, The Dusty Sanderson Band, Chasing Fridays and more. The MHS Band Parent Association also will be selling its famous shish-ka-bobs as well as hamburgers, hotdogs and Coca-Cola products. Tickets are $5 at the gate. Children age 5 and under are free. It will be held on the Park Avenue side of the MHS campus, which is located at 5445 Stewart Street in Milton. All proceeds raised by the band will be used to purchase instruments and equipment. Pensacola Duplicate Bridge Club

The Pensacola Duplicate Bridge Club will be hosting its spring tournament March 18, 19 and 20th at Pensacola State College. The event will be held in the Student Center, Underwood Drive and draws almost 200 competitors from all over the Gulf Coast.  For more information call 516-6313.

Coin Club

The Pensacola Numismatic Society (Coin Club) will have their monthly meeting at Sonny’s Barbeque, 630 North Navy Blvd. on March 17 at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 332-6491. No cost unless having dinner.

The Compassionate Friends – March 19

The Pensacola Chapter of The Compassionate Friends invites bereaved parents, siblings, relatives and friends to register now for our Third Annual “Walk to Remember” Saturday, March 19 at 9 a.m. The local walk will be held at Pensacola State College Track (Main Campus).  Following the event there will be brief memorial service. You do not need to be a member of The Compassionate Friends to join with us and you do not need to walk the full walk. We welcome everyone who wants to join hands and hearts in remembering all children who have died too soon. Anyone interested in walking should call Margarita Vazquez at 554-2592 or Debbie Zabukovec at 516-0810 to receive a registration form.

Guy Thompson Community Center

The GTCC Bridge Club meets every Monday from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. The club is party-style and partners are encouraged. There is no cost to play. Players are expected to learn the game of bridge on their own to improve their play. For more information contact GTCC Parks and Recreation at 983-5466.
