A Training Air Wing FIVE helicopter incurred a hard landing at around 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field’s Navy Outlying Landing Field Santa Rosa near Milton, Fla.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that the helicopter experienced a mishap on one of the field’s helicopter pads while landing. The Helicopter Training Squadron EIGHTEEN pilot and student aviator exited the helicopter on their own accord and sustained no visible injuries. The pilots were evaluated by EMS personnel and were transported to a local hospital for a routine evaluation.
