LETTER: Holmes’ terrorist claims don’t add up

Dear editor,

Rick Holmes downplays the facts regarding immigration and terrorism. The reason the sentiment is so loud against terrorist-infiltrated immigrants from Europe is "We the People" do not want to become Europe with annual terrorist attacks.

Rick mentions that, among 6 million Muslims here in the U.S., there are maybe 30 ISIS supporters — yet people are arrested monthly for supporting or trying to join ISIS. Were they one of those 30 ISIS supporters? No! So that number … is fictitious.

Also, of the 6 million Muslims in our country, why is it they never turn in these radicals who live among them? At some point, don't many of them become supporters of the radical ideology by not reporting radical Muslims? When offering witness information about a crime or potential crime to law enforcement, I don't ask if the suspect is black or white, nor do I inquire about their religion as my guideline to cooperate or not in the investigation!

Now, the truth: There is a very large number of people who should not be in our country. From illegal immigrants who shoot to kill, kill by DUI or with heroine coming from Mexico causing American deaths, they do so because they are here! Add all these deaths up, and the total is much more than what Rick offered with 45 terrorist-caused deaths since 9/11.

Isn't it amazing Rick uses a number that ignores the 3,000 deaths of 9/11 and all the bombings around the world before 9/11, or the 1976 Olympic Games?

My accidental death is somewhat controlled through the choices I make; my death from a terrorist or an illegal immigrate is determined through the choices they make. There is a big difference between the two!

News flash, Rick: You haven't got a clue as to history or the present and future coming events! My only consoling thought is that future targets of terrorists or illegal immigrants are the larger liberal cities.

It's amazing how quickly a liberal will convert (after the fact) to a conservative viewpoint once they have lost one of their own family members!

What's your view? Write a letter to the editor.
