Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues:
COURTHOUSE SPECIAL INTERESTS
This is J. The taxpayers of Santa Rosa County should take notice of the problems with politics of special interests with our courthouse. Or should it be called the city of Milton courthouse?
Three commissioners continue to vote to keep it next to the river, in a flood plain, by the railroad tracks, in a congested area with no adequate highway access. A few of our fine elected officers have come forward with better ideas and voiced their concerns about the future problems.
Remember at election time, when they want your vote, to stay on the commission.
As for Jayer (Williamson, county commissioner), seeing the bright lights of Tallahassee, appointed by the governor, and never elected by the voters of Santa Rosa County, he now wants your vote for higher office. Take note.
BUILD AROUND THE MESSICK PROPERTY
This is Dave. On this Theresa Messick downtown property (issue) … I would have gone ahead and built the courthouse around her property, if necessary, instead of giving in to her …
… They should have went ahead and built it and let her property sit there and rot. Make it worthless. Thanks.
Next time, we'll vote somebody in there that's got some backbone and doesn't let people rob the county.
CRONYISM IS REPLACING BEST PRACTICES
Hi, this is Jim, and I have one final comment to make on the property Mrs. Messick owns …
I'm going to quote what Sen. (Don) Gaetz had to say about Northwest Florida in Sunday's paper. He said that, sometimes, including right here in Northwest Florida, cronyism replaces straight forward, best price, best-results contracting; and politicians wind up with lucrative contracts, the standard operating procedures of crony government, including bid splitting, bid rigging, bribery, no-show jobs for relatives, and fraud.
So, if the shoe fits, I think it's time to vote everybody out of their lucrative little jobs that they have directing this courthouse.
GOD MADE THE CHINESE AND RUSSIANS, TOO

Mary, I'm sure you are a Christian. You stated it before. So, surely you know that the Chinese and the Russians and the Communists were created by the same God.
So I don't think he would approve of you calling them enemies or hating them. I think He loves them as much as He loves you.
