Milton man, charged with sexual assault on minor, cleared of charges

In July of 2014, a Milton man was arrested for 2 counts of sexual assault and battery by custodian on a victim, and one count of lewd lascivious behavior with a victim between the ages of 12 to 16 years of age by an offender older than 18 years old. In August, Sasport was cleared of all charges.

Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office reports Frank Patrick Sasport, 43, began abusing the victim between the years of 2012 and 2013. According to reports the abuse occurred on several occasions and at different locations including the Virgin Islands, Pensacola, Pace and Jay. The victim reported to deputies, reports said, Sasport told the victim not to tell anyone. Reports said the victim informed two people and the witnesses spoke with SRSO about the abuse.

One witness, reports said, told deputies in a sworn, recorded statement that two years ago the victim spoke of the abuse about inappropriate touching, and forcing sexual acts. Sasport was charged and taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail and is currently being held under $200,000 bond.

James Parker, Santa Rosa County supervisor for the State Attorney's Office said Frank Patrick Sasport, 43, Milton was cleared of sexual assault and battery charges by a custodian on a victim and one count of lewd lascivious behavior with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 years old August 8. Sasport was charged July 29. Parker said the victim in the case recanted the story and without any evidence to prove the charge, the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
