Pensacola – Discovery Saturday attendees will have the opportunity to see Ken Blackburn, a paper airplane champion, demonstrate his record-breaking plane design. As part of its mission to inspire and educate, the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation will present the program at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, in the Blue Angels Atrium of the National Naval Aviation Museum.
Blackburn will explain the history of flight, fundamentals of flight using paper airplanes and instruct the audience on how to copy his signature, sky-soaring techniques. Blackburn previously held the Guinness Record for time aloft for a paper airplane at 27.6 seconds until 2009. Blackburn has penned four paper airplane books: “The World Record Paper Airplane Book,” “Kids’ Paper Airplane Book,” “Pocket Flyers,” and “Aviation Legends Paper Airplane Book.”
