Bagdad UMC gives special-needs kids a fishing day

Special-needs students from Bagdad Elementary School participate in a recent fishing clinic.

BAGDAD — Volunteers with Bagdad United Methodist Church recently gave a rare opportunity to special-needs students from Bagdad Elementary School.

They offered a fishing day — on the house.

Students learned standard angling techniques and took home a rod after the May 6 clinic.

Ed Pasek, owner of the home where the event took place, said the church has been organizing fishing clinics for three years.

“It’s our greatest privilege to share and care with these children,” Pastor Clive Knights said.
