PENSACOLA — Trifecta: Draw, Paint, Design is a three-part event that kicks off this weekend.
The exhibition — sponsored by First City Art Center, InWeekly, Nancy’s Catering & Events and Po10tial Magazine — takes place May 20-21 at First City Art Center, 1060 N. Guillemard Street in Pensacola.
Trifecta will open with a reception and launch party from 5-9 p.m. May 20. The reception and launch are open to the public.
Additionally, the exhibition will be open to the public from 3-9 p.m. May 20 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 21.
The exhibition, featuring Milton resident Julie McGrath’s work, will explore the various avenues of color, line and form through the basic forms of art; drawing, painting and design.
“Trifecta will showcase traditional styles of art mixed with contemporary methods and techniques,” a news release stated. “It will challenge the viewer to see new angles as it has challenged Ms. McGrath throughout her career as an artist. Trifecta embodies the work that has inspired her and motivated her throughout the evolution of her style.”
Trifecta will also celebrate the launch of McGrath’s website, “Draw. Paint. Design.” The website will serve as a virtual gallery space to permanently display her work. It will also serve as a point of contact for commissions, freelance works and contract work.
Food and drinks will be served during the reception and launch. All work on display will be available for purchase, as will unframed prints and T-shirts.
