Nonprofit helps disabled navigate resources

MILTON — The Milton Rotary Club recently hosted Carolyn Grawi from the Center for Independent Living Disability Resource Center.

The CILDRC was founded in 1980 as an organization run by and for people with disabilities. Their goal is to offer hope, provide support and transform lives by working with and on behalf of people with disabilities.

There are over 79,000 people with disabilities in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. The CILDRC also alerts city and county officials of any accessibility needs in its community and assists individuals with disabilities navigate public systems including, Social Security, community mental health and more.

The Milton Rotary Club meets at noon on Tuesdays at Grover T’s, 5887 US-90.
