Leads sought on child abduction attempt in Navarre

NAVARRE — The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office seeks information on a possible, attempted child abduction.  

Today at approximately 2:15 pm, deputies responded to the area of Ortega Street and Shipton Street in reference to possible child abduction.

Just before the 911 call, the juvenile female victim said an adult male, between the age of 50 and 55 with black/gray hair, pulled up to her and grabbed her by the arm. She reportedly struck the suspect with an instrument case and ran away.

The vehicle was described as a small white cross-over type SUV. The male was believed to be thin and tall. No other description was available. The victim was not injured.
