New sandwich restaurant in the works for Milton

MILTON —  Developers plan to bring a new sandwich franchise to Santa Rosa County.

Milton is one of three locations to soon see a Which Wich location open, according to a CEFCO spokesperson.

“We are going to open two in Fort Walton pretty quick and sometime this fall we will have the one in Milton up and ready to go,” said Sean Fatzinger, CEFCO convenience stores’ regional director of food operations.

CEFCO, the Texas-based company, recently opened several convenience stores in Crestview and Niceville. CEFCO operates franchises under its company, Which Wich, being one of them.

“We liked the area and we saw great business opportunity there,” Fatzinger said. “We felt that the Which Wich brand would best fit for that area.”

Which Wich was launched in 2003 by founder Jeff Sinelli, who began selling franchise rights two years later.

There are more than 300 locations in 37 states and eight  countries, according to whichwich.com. Currently the closest franchise is in Destin.

The sandwich franchise allows customers to customize their sandwich while filling out what they want on their brown sandwich bag.

Fatzinger said customers can fill out what kind of sandwich they want, turn the bag into a cashier and relax while waiting without standing in line. Once the order is complete, the customer’s name on the order will be called out for pick-up.

According to the business’s website, customers have a variety to select from: including turkey, beef and chicken to seafood and vegetarian sandwiches. Catering services will also be available.

Upon completion of the Milton location, located near the U.S. Highway 90 and Avalon Boulevard intersection, Fatzinger said the Which Wich seeks to hire around 30 employees including managerial staff and crew members. Those interested can apply at cefcostores.com/careers.

While Fatzinger would not comment on future expansion of Which Wich locations in the area, Scott McIntosh, the director of franchise development for the company, said “there is lots of opportunity in the surrounding areas.”
