PACE — Pace High School student Richard Fisher won the Outstanding Military Leadership Qualities Award in the Reserve Officers Training Corps Program.
He was chosen as the most outstanding cadet for the junior class out of all of the other schools in the area.
“Richard has been thoroughly involved in the community and was a well-chosen candidate for the award,” a media release stated. “He has been a part of the varsity swim team for four years, and he will be the boys swim team captain next year. He will have done four years of NJROTC, as well as served as the unit’s executive officer, and led as one of the unit’s platoon commanders. He has done seven years in Boy Scouts of America. He served as the troop’s Senior patrol leader and many other leadership positions. He will have been a part of SGA for two years while playing an active role in the club. He endures a rigorous class schedule including many honors and AP courses while still holding a 4.0 GPA.
“He was very humble while receiving the award and told the unit that there was even more that he wanted to accomplish in the upcoming year.”
