MILTON — Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues.
CHURCHES, WHAT IS YOUR GROWTH RATE?
This is Tony the critic. I would like to say the next 20 or 30 years are going to be very dark because of greed and stupidity and ungodliness, and also because of weak Christians (who) no longer go out to reach people.
They are stuck in their social routine, which means going to church when the doors are open, doing their usual thing every time, and going back home.
What happened to going out door to door? What happened to having “bring a friend day” and setting goals and reaching people, like when I was growing up?
Churches are growth-less. All they do is transfer members from one church to another. I would like to know, from each church, what is your positive growth rate — not transfers — (but) your positive growth rate? The people you have reached; the people that have been saved. What is your rate?
I'd say it's pretty much zero from the churches I've been to, and ones I've experienced for many years.
WALMART IS IN PEA RIDGE
Yeah, this is Bobby, answering Will's question in Wednesday’s paper, “Where is Wal-Mart in Milton?” He says he knows where the one in Pace is. Well, I got news for you. There's none in Pace, either. It happens to be in Pea Ridge, which is between Milton and Pace. So they call it Pace, or you can call it Milton, but it's really Pea Ridge.
