MILTON — Santa Rosa County now offers virtual inspections for residents and contractors.
The service allows an inspector to remotely view a work site and perform an inspection using a webcam on a mobile device, with free applications like Skype and FaceTime.
Virtual services offered include:
●Re-inspections
●Window and door replacements
●Water heater replacements
●Site inspections
●HVAC change-outs
●Water line inspections
●Insulation inspections
●Voluntary code compliance
These items are necessary to conduct a virtual inspection:
●Internet access
●Portable device with a webcam, such as an iPad, iPhone, smart phone or tablet
●Skype or FaceTime downloaded onto the device
●Tape measure
●Flashlight
