MILTON — A Milton man is among those invited to an evening with the consul general of Japan and the Japan Training Squadron’s commander in Miami.
Stanley Harper, from Milton, has accepted the invitation to attend a reception on Thursday, July 7 on board the JS KASHIMA at Naval Station Mayport.
“Now that Congress has given its approval for Japan to now take on a more active role on the war against terrorism … Japan is now building and developing its defense to assist the United States with these global challenges we face and the training that is taking place within their self-defense development,” Harper said.
And regarding the Miami event?
“It is also a reception for leaders that support Japanese culturally, educationally and economically in Florida throughout many avenues.”
