2 injured, 1 charged in Santa Rosa County traffic accident

MILTON — Two people are injured, and one is behind bars, following a weekend traffic accident.

Alice A. Okaleaf, 30, of Little Rock, Ark., was traveling east in the U.S. Highway 98 westbound inside lane, west of the intersection with New Hope Road, around 2:25 July 3.  

Bryan J. Oubre, 36, of Reserve, La., was traveling west in the U.S. Highway 98 westbound inside lane, approaching Okaleaf’s 2015 Nissan Versa.

The Versa’s front right corner collided with the front right corner of Oubre’s 2005 Infinity G35.

The Versa came to final rest facing south in the median, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

The G35 came to final rest facing southwest in the U.S. Highway 98 westbound outside lane.

Oubre, who received minor injuries and was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence, was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail.

Charges against Okaleaf, who is in critical condition, are pending further investigation, according to FHP.
