MILTON — Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues.
LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE
It hurts Milton businesses to have everyone go to another city or county to buy beer or liquor. the city looks like a ghost town on Sundays, when they could be raking in some money.
Everybody works hard all through the week, and weekends are a time for relaxation and fun, and if alcohol or liquor is part of their fun then so be it.
Not everyone is careless. And it gives the local stores/pubs etc. one more day that they and their employees/bartenders can make some money.
Also, (it helps) motorcycle runs that do benefits for all kinds of people in need including Toys for Tots, etc … a lot of the pubs are included in these runs.
Personally, I just think the people of Santa Rosa and Milton should be able to vote on it.

SUNDAY IS THE LORD’S DAY
I feel like if you want to drink, that is your privilege. However, (for) someone to drink and drive, it is against the law, causes accidents and costs lives.
You drive to the restaurant; you drive to get back home. You have a drink with dinner, then an after-dinner drink, pay your bill and drive home — you are drinking and driving.
Sunday is the day you should be attending the church of your choice — Sunday is the Lord's day.
Do not believe the ban on sales of alcoholic beverages on Sunday is no more than respect for those that attend night services at the church of their choice.

AN APOLOGY FOR BENGHAZI
Steven King here. With the election of her husband, Michelle Obama stated this is the first time in her lifetime she was proud of her country.
With the June 28 release of the Benghazi Report, this is the first time in my lifetime I have been totally ashamed and disgusted with mine!
It's a sad day for "We the People's" America! I am sorry for those injured and killed. I now pray — I don't do enough of this — for your family and loved ones who lost one of those four extraordinary men.
I am so sorry for what "We the People" of America let happen.

ISRAEL ISN’T ACTING LIKE GOD’S COUNTRY
Yes, look what the president of the world, Ban Ki-Moon, he told Israel to left whatever they got with Palestine. These people need food. They need water and they need electricity. Israel cut the water off and the electricity and they don’t let them receive any help, food or water or anything. I don’t think that’s right. God’s country should be good to the whole world. That’s why they call God’s country, and the people should be good. They shouldn’t be like that.
EXCITED FOR NEW TRAINING FACILITY
That's awesome! This only serves to reinforce the security and viability of NAS Whiting Field! Wonder if this will increase the workforce of the base at all? Now it's time to reward the retired military community for our continued support of NASWF and re-open the MWR facilities such as the golf course.

GRIEVING FOR MEATBALL
So sorry. I saw that cat many times whenever I was at, or anywhere around the old Press Gazette building. Beautiful cat. RIP Meatball.
