A 25-year-old Milton man died early Thursday after running his motorcycle into a chain link fence off Chumuckla Highway in Santa Rosa County, officials say.
The man, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, “failed to maintain his lane while attempting to negotiate a curve” near the highway’s intersection with Berryhill Oaks Court, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
He lost control of the bike when he reached the shoulder of the road and struck the chain link fence, the report said. He died at the scene of the accident.
The driver was not wearing a helmet, the report said.
