Pence's son in flight training at NAS Whiting Field

MILTON — Michael Pence, son of Indiana governor and recently tapped running mate of Donald Trump, Mike Pence, is a student military aviator with Training Air Wing 5 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field.

Whiting Field Public Information Officer Jay Cope confirmed this Thursday.

Pence is learning to fly the T-6B Texan II, the tandem-seat turboprop trainer designed for Navy and Marine Corps flight students, Cope said.

Trump announced July 15 on Twitter that the governor would be his running mate for this year’s presidential election.
