First Baptist Church in Milton will honor local school teachers 6 p.m. August 7 on the eve of their return to schools for the 2016-17 term. Guest speaker for the event is Susan Wegmann, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Teacher Education Division of Baptist College of Florida in Graceville.
Wegmann, who has taught at BCF since 2013, also serves as the college’s liaison with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. She previously served as a tenured faculty member of University of Central Florida in Orlando.
In teaching college students, Wegmann hopes to instill a love of teaching, “the world’s most important profession,” she said. “I am passionate about teaching and connecting research with practice. My hope is for every child to learn to love reading and to embrace a lifestyle of being interested in the world.”
