EXPAND HIGHWAY 90
Milton and its leaders are time-warped in the 19th century. Nothing is going to change until new people move into the area and vote the old status quo out of public office.
It will be 20 years before they expand (Highway) 90 through Milton. However, the next hurricane that comes our way, might do it for us anyway.

IT’S A WONDER…
This is a place that still has police hiding in trees to catch speeders — I'm surprised they sell alcohol here at all.
This community is so full of poverty , people hooked on pain meds, EBT, joblessness, disability, SSI, government assistance and every form of government employment possible. There is a disproportionate amount of government- to private-sector employment that actually pays more than $9 per hour.
It's a wonder this place survives, and if the military gets gutted this go-around it will surely be a place no one will populate except for those who can't escape.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY — ‘GOOD OL’ BOYS?’
The mention of the Historical Society is quite interesting since it made a huge change by getting the Imogene Theatre licensed for full liquor sales, just like the Saenger Theatre.
Sounds like (the writer of a letter to the editor, “Santa Rosa good ol’ boys shouldn’t decide alcohol issue”) should come to the Imogene for an event and enjoy a drink!

WHAT’S THE CATCH TO ENTER HEAVEN?
My name is Barbara. This is for the person in the paper … that was talking to TC, telling him that homosexuals could not enter Heaven.
Well, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and he needs to read some more; (the Bible) also says liars can’t (enter Heaven) either.
What’s the catch?
You get saved, and then you cut out your wicked ways or anything that God tells you not to do and you will go to Heaven.
So, next time, give your name and read a little bit more of the Bible. Thank you.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article stated all the comments came from calls on our Speak Out hotline. However, two of the comments did come from comments left at srpressgazette.com.
This was stated correctly in our print edition, but a website template with the text that states where comments come from had not been updated to state that Speak Out now includes top web comments in addition to phone calls received.
