MILTON — Two Navarre residents are recovering from injuries related to a Monday night traffic accident.
A 2009 Chevy Cobalt was traveling northbound around 8:30 p.m. on State Road 87, just south of Buckeye Drive in Santa Rosa County, when the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.
The driver, Christopher M. Weatherington, 37, of Navarre, received serious injury and was flown to Sacred Heart Pensacola, according to the FHP. The passenger, Trenton Weatherington, 11, received a minor injury and an ambulance took him to Sacred Heart Pensacola.
The accident was not alcohol related, but the driver was wearing no seatbelt, according to the FHP, which charged him with careless driving.
The Cobalt received $4,000 in damage, according to the media release.
