LETTER: Questioning an FBI director’s word?

Dear editor,

In her Aug. 11 screed, “Reasons not to vote for Hillary,” Chrys Holley asserts in her third paragraph: “Clinton lied upon lies to the FBI …”

In the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on July 7, FBI Director Comey stated, “We have no basis to conclude she [Clinton] lied to the FBI.”

Comey also said that Clinton did not lie under oath to the FBI.

Holley is contradicting FBI Director Comey’s testimony before the House Committee. So, here’s the question: Who is telling the truth — Holley or Comey?

If Holley has information from a credible, nonpartisan source that FBI Director Comey lied to the House Committee, she should make it public.

If Holley cannot substantiate her assertion that Comey lied before the Committee, she owes you, the reader, an apology for her misrepresentation of the facts.

I’ll put my money on Comey.
